In Jamaica with My Family

Hey all,
I’m in Jamaica visiting my husband’s family. I left my computer at home and his doesn’t have a built in mic so no podcasting for now. But I’ve been thinking about it. I”m going to try and post a video podcast I recorded up in the ‘country’ where my husband’s parents live. The poverty is so intense up there it made me think about delusions which undergird everything. Are the wealthy deluded or the poor? Both? Probably both eh? Anyway, it’s pretty intense up there and is making me think about my own consumption, my family’s consumption, etc. I”ll keep you posted there.
Hope you all had a lovely holiday if you celebrate any this season. I don’t really celebrate anything specific, but it was nice to be with family whatever the occasion. I was swamped with kid love from all out MILLION nieces and nephews (ok it was only 7 but it seemed like a lot to this only child!). They were fascinated by my knitting and I now have orders for each of them. I got 2 totally done. Another half way (a hat, but he also want’s mittens…in Jamaica??!?!). I’m about to cast on another pair of mittens. I just brought random yarn with me but it’s starting to work out so far!
Happy new year!
